.....he said as he started tailing the car through the city this morning.
I'm the black arrows, holding speed. He's the red arrows, merging. I don't know if he ever looked. Maybe he turned his head and looked once, then didn't look again four the second lane? Maybe he just used his mirrors?
All I know is that he was 5-6 lengths in front of me the first time I saw him. I watched him take one lane, then just continue on over into mine. I was even with his rear tire and he kept coming. I lifted and laid on the horn the second he entered my lane (I ride lane-left) He kept coming.
Now I'm behind him, wishing my horn button was on the other bar end so I wouldn't have to alternate between the horn and the finger. I'm usually a very patient person, but just explode into a furious rage when people are fucking careless like this.
I almost had him.

He miscalculated his pit stop delta and didn't wanna lose the position to you.

Did he also happen to apply the brakes just as he got half way into your lane?

Nope, no brakes.
I was on the horn for a full two seconds before I lifted and surrendered the spot.

I get cut off so fucking much I don't even bother with the horn any more. But, the combo of a three lane merge-cut off-brake check is the absolute worst, yet most common technique in Kentucky.

Serenity now, my friend. People are idiots, but it's never worth the aggravation.

While that describes by attitude 99% of the time. When I'm on the motorcycle, those careless actions become life threatening, and it's instant rage.
It's the difference between someone carelessly pointing a unloaded weapon in your direction vs carelessly pointing a loaded one. While both actions are are careless, there's a BIG difference.
